Ornamental Ginger

a ginger can be ornamental
without flavour, spice; no useful purpose
a thing of beauty
dependant on the earth, the sun, the sky
but the sun set and forgot to rise
the ginger waited with its drooping head
rejected
without sustenance; the clouds and earth abandoned
for the sun tired of the same dawn
tired of its duty
and closed its eyes to all.
